While polyester rugs are forgiving, proper care routines will prevent matting, static buildup, and premature fiber crushing, keeping your JUSTRUG looking freshly laid for years. Vacuum your polyester rug 2 to 3 times per week, especially in high-traffic areas. You may use a standard vacuum with a gentle beater bar on a high pile setting, but suction-only is always the safest option. Polyester fibers are inherently strong but can flatten under repeated mechanical agitation, alternate between beater bar and suction-only sessions. Polyester's hydrophobic (water-repelling) nature means most spills sit on the surface before absorbing. Blot immediately with a clean white cloth. For tougher stains, mix a small amount of mild dish soap with lukewarm water and gently dab the area. Never rub aggressively, while polyester is durable, aggressive scrubbing can mat the pile permanently. Polyester is prone to pile crushing in high-traffic zones and under heavy furniture. Rotate your rug 180° every 6 months. To revive flattened areas, place a damp cloth over the crushed pile and gently steam with an iron on low heat, or use ice cubes and let the moisture slowly lift the fibers overnight. Professional cleaning every 18 to 24 months is sufficient for this resilient fiber. New polyester rugs may exhibit initial shedding of loose surface fibers, this is normal manufacturing residue and will diminish within the first 2 to 4 weeks of regular vacuuming.
