Deep, soft, and completely machine washable. Cotton shag asks only for a gentle cold wash and enough time to dry all the way through. Gentle cycle at or below 30°C / 86°F with mild detergent. Wash alone; the high cotton pile needs the whole drum. No bleach, stain powders, or fabric softener. Mild detergent protects color and fiber. Air dry only, away from radiators and direct sun. Dry flat and flip once so both sides dry through; allow a full day. Wrinkles relax on their own within a day. Smooth stubborn folds by hand. Solvents are unnecessary and can affect the backing. Your machine is all it needs. Press a clean white cloth onto the spill and lift. Never rub; rubbing pushes the spill deeper into the weave. Cold water and a single drop of mild detergent on the cloth. Work from the edge of the spot toward its center. Let the spot dry naturally, then vacuum on a low setting. For anything stubborn, a full machine wash resets the rug. Once fully dry, shake the rug out and run your fingers gently through the pile to restore its loft. Light shedding when new is natural cotton behavior and settles after a wash or two. Wash with confidence.
